Zombie Action Figure, you’re my best friend.

This is Earl. He ain’t been quite right lately.

He’s also one of the sweetest action figures ever made. He was part of Mezco’s Attack of the Living Dead line, which sadly only had one series, consisting of 3 figures. My buddy Earl was accompanied by a skinny dude named Jake, and a zombie chick named Hellen. Each figure had several variations, however. Each one had a light and dark version as well as two different heads. So, all in all, each character had four different versions. There were also some exclusives including a black and white set and a glow in the dark set.

I only own Earl, but I think he’s the best of the bunch. He’s got a really nice head sculpt with a movable jaw. The other Earl head has both of his eyes popping out and just doesn’t seem as appealing to me.

Hopefully as you can see from the picture, Earl’s got some really nice detail, it really is an excellent sculpt. He’s also got great articulation with joints at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, chest, neck, jaw, knees, and feet, making him infinitely posable. He has an open stomach wound with removable intestines, which is sufficiently disgusting. The only issue I have with him is that his right arm falls off a lot, which I guess is less of a problem for a zombie action figure than say, a Superman figure.

These came out back in 2006, so they’re not so readily available. If you want to find them, you’re best bet is probably to do a quick Google search and find them online. You can get them from around $12-$18 each, depending on which one you’re after.
